A Modern Take on the Classic New York Steakhouse and Grill
Bringing a new experience to Qatar’s dining scene, Astor Grill is named after American businessman John Jacob Astor IV who built the original St. Regis Hotel in New York more than a century ago. The restaurant celebrates two essential aspects of a grill: fire and smoke. A five-meter-high bronze sculpture resembling billowing smoke, inspired by the work of British artist Tony Cragg, provides a dramatic entrance to the venue. The main dining area emphasizes warmth with its sculptural custom barrel vault ceiling composed of pine wood pieces and deep red leather dining chairs. As guests proceed through the red lacquer portal frame at the back of the space, they come upon a raised seating area with views of the open grill kitchen. In 2013, Astor Grill was nominated for an SBID International Design Award in the category Best Entertainment Space.
