A Restaurant with the Soul of Cuba
Taking cues from the restaurant’s name, “Soul of Cuba,” the interior design focuses on Cuba’s people and culture. An Italian photographer was commissioned to capture the soul of the country’s lifestyle. The bar on the ground floor is defined by a series of projections showing different people from the island. The images are subtly animated (some people blink an eye while others simply smile). On the first floor an oversized image of a “habanera” celebrates the country’s cigar culture. On the top floor, where the private dining room is located, large photographs of a tobacco plantation create an immersive experience and underscore the venue’s lush and exotic feel.
